When I first moved there in the early 70s you could walk out to a place off Point Lobos Avenue and see Seal Rocks off the San Francisco coast. It’s all changed now due to development what with the closure of the Presidio, mostly. There used to be a famous restaurant right there. I believe the structure is still there but the restaurant itself is closed. Just to the north were the ruins of Sutro Baths, now turned into a visitors marvel as a historic preservation. But you can still see the seals on Seal Rocks. Assuming they aren’t disturbed by all the changes, that is.

We would see mostly pups there, clinging to the crags amidst the waves. And it always made me think of Jeffers' poem, "Orca" when I saw them. Such gentle creatures they are. You captured them well, Randy.
