What does time have to do with anything? What if he were a fascist in the first instance? Would that have made any attachment to his work any less significant? Does one appreciate Wagner's opera less for his anti-Semitism? Picasso for his hound dog? Or even know how Bernini or Mozart felt about certain matters? Art is an entirely separate entity isn't it? At least once it approaches that one who appreciates it. It becomes the possession of the one who possesses it and not the one who creates it. Who cares the sympathies or pathetic beliefs of the creator at that point?
