Oh, Once I Was A Singin’ Lad

I rarely respond to prompts but this was one I could not resist; still, I failed to meet the main requirement of reaching exactly 100 words. Prompts are simply ridiculous. I am a poet, not a bricklayer. And then someone suggested that I merely “toss in” this phrase to “catch up” as it were: “to remind us there’s always hope.” Oh, yes, that would be perfect!
