Of course it is ridiculous. And sad.

There are some genuine debates, with some merit, taking place in the business world (I put the world of business behind me long ago, BTW). Trying to do “deals” for example is far too complicated on ZOOM or through texts. It requires that face-to-face contact. People who don’t acknowledge this, who think you can successfully accomplish deals, consistently, utilizing the internet, are simply avoiding reality. Clear human communication in real time is not consistently and reliably possible using social media.

People prove this every day, in business and all other interpersonal relationships.

But other matters, “simple” office matters, can always be handled through social media with ease and more cost effectively. In essence they are already in the confinement of an office. WFH is merely the next level of extension.
