Mary is on to something. At least from the perspective of those bigger pubs, there is no “secret” to productivity being revealed in this article. Their audience, as they see it, already knows this “secret.” And their audience, as they perceive it, wants some other information about productivity: “How to Achieve 300% More Productivity in Less Than Two Weeks in Three Easy Steps!”
It is possible other pubs see their audience differently. Possible.
But you’d have to go hunting for them based upon the average Medium reader. You have the “intellectual” reader uninterested in “productivity.” The “distracted” reader also uninterested in “productivity.” Then the one above who knows all these basics already and is looking for something “supercharged.” They all have their “go-to” publications. You might be hard-pressed to find one where a newbie reader on Medium simply doesn’t know that a routine is required to establish productivity.
They may not have or follow a routine. But that doesn’t mean they don’t know.
However, taking the “secret” out of the title might do you some good, and reworking it as more of a research piece to show how these basics were established and continue to be propounded by the experts you mention turn it into a workable notion all over again.
