It used to be more about community…but you can still develop a healthy one around here, yes you can.

98% of the editors here don’t get paid, and as the big pubs get shut down that percentage is rising. That accounts for the lack of experience. And there isn’t anything that can be done about it…unless someone wants to raise the membership fee to about $100 a month. That WOULD slow things down a bit… You have to hold your breath at times, close your eyes, clench your teeth…count to ten. As I’ve said in the past, and more than once, a writer can pick up their toys and move on to some other publication. You don’t even have to submit to a publication! Some think it’s a necessity but others swear by going it alone. Flip a coin. It really always has been about COMMUNITY and not publications. Read what Carol Burt has to say on the subject. I don’t agree but…I don’t agree with anyone!!! Works for me…
