I wish. Half the time I can barely speak English. I had to study all sorts of foreign languages to get my degrees and that was always the most difficult part for me. I buttered up every for lang teacher I ever had just to pass. I am supposedly fluent in French, Spanish and German but I cannot speak a word. Mandarin? Only phrases that I steal. And I cannot remember them unless I write them down, repeat them over and over. Most of the time I'm not even certain if I'm pronouncing them right. But I did grow up with a lot of Chinese people which gave me an advantage (I suppose) and had a number of Chinese friends when I lived in San Francisco. The New York friends mostly spoke Cantonese, though.
