I recall thinking—and do remember how faulty my memory is!--when I first read this piece, that, as much as I favored it, this still seemed somewhat hesitant. Yet now, as I read through all these pieces where you follow J.D.’s prompts much more closely, less independently, I can see how much more thoughtful and singular it is. My apologies, therefore, for undervaluing it and I am happy to have taken the time to revisit.
