I hope your daughter does well at Tulane, a marvelous school (for whatever she’s doing there). As a New Yorker, replanted in Northern California before transplanting one last lime (unfortunately, bless my heart, as we say down here for some reason in The South) at least she won’t have to contend with wildfires. Yet. But, yes, make certain she does evacuate when the hurricanes come. Don’t dither. Have her be prepared to do it. Have a personal plan for it, not merely Tulane’s. If she doesn’t already know someone trustworthy who knows someone (family) further inland make certain she gets to know someone like that fast. A safe place to stay during storms is the greatest comfort for a daughter and a mother.
