Again, don’t be so sensitive to people who respond negatively. Of course you know nothing about them. Why should you? You only know your “audience.” And who is that? It’s that person, or persons, you imagine writing for. And that should be your only concern. And it may be yourself.
Many writers write only with themselves in mind (many others feel that is a mistake, btw...) or with a special reader in mind. Others have been taught to think of some “general audience” within a specific frame of reference. Whichever way you go about it, some others will be left out of the picture automatically.
You cannot please everyone. Nor should you attempt such a mammoth task. And, finally, attempting to do so, especially after the fact, not only waters-down your work but it makes you look rather tepid as a writer. As if you’ve made some horrid mistakes...WHEN YOU HAVEN’T.
